This morning I woke up at 5:30 to get ready for school. I actually woke up a little earlier, because it was thundering. So I got ready, then my mom and I where on our way. We backed out of the garage and started driving. In our neighborhood there is a river, and when it rains here it usually floods. We were slowly driving to the school and the water started to get deeper especially when we exited the neighborhood. When we got further on the Malecon, a street close the ocean, the water started going into my mom's car. My mom called my dad and asked him what to do. My mom's engine died and she called my dad again to tell him to come and pick us up. My mom and I waited like 20 min. for my dad. It was really frustrating because we could see just a block and a half away the water was a lot lower. My dad came and pushed us to a parking lot with his truck and then my mom and I got into his car. And all this had to happen on my first day of school. When we finally got to my school my mom went in with me to my class. The rest of the day was just a normal day. In my class there are two girls who speak English and some of the Mexican girls are really sweet. I have 8 hours of English a week and all the rest Spanish. LoL TTYL

Elevator Got Stuck
Today like every Tuesday and Thursday I went to my Spanish classes. The last few times I have gone into the apartment building on my own. This day my mom felt that she needed to go with me, although she was not dressed to see people because she had been cleaning. To get to my teacher's apartment you have to go to the fourth floor. You can either go by elevator or stairs, of course, I usually take the elevator. My mom had not told me that she felt (of course this was from the Holy Spirit) that she needed to go with me, but before I went in she asked me if I wanted her to go in with me, and I said sure. So, we entered the building. We pushed the button to go up to the fourth floor and the elevator opened. It started to go up but then it stopped and didn't open. My mom forced the inside door open, but the outside door wouldn't open. We tried to get out, but the outside door would not open. My mom finally started pushing the alarm. And trying to figure out how to get out. I started to panic, but my mom told me not to even go there. Next the door shut and the elevator went up. Both doors opened and we found ourselves on the fifth floor. We went down one floor on the stairs, and arrived at my teachers apartment. When we arrived her roommate informed us that she wasn't there yet, so I sat down at the kitchen table and waited. I sat there thinking about if I had been alone. I don't know what I would have done. I definitely would've been panicking.
I am so glad that God cares. He knew what was going to happen and told my mom to go in with me. I'm also thankful that my mom is sensitive to the Holy Spirit, so that she was able to hear him. I'm soooooooooo thankful that I serve a God who cares about us. Isn't my GOD AWESOME. I hope He's your God also. If He isn't and you want to learn more about him. Email me or comment me if you don't have my email. Thank You for reading this and God Bless.

High School Musical 2 and School starting
I'm sooooooo excited that High School Musical 2 starts tomorrow. I can't wait to watch it. My school in Mexico starts the 27th. I'm sooooooo nervous yet I have a peace about it. God has just kinda let me know that it's going to be alright. As I said before all my classes except like two hours are in Spanish, so I'll definitely have to try harder than I had to in the States. But, since I know God has called us to live here I know He'll be there to help me.

Today I didn't do much to today. I watched Dr. DooLittle 3, which was good, and I went grocery shopping with my mom, my sister, and my friend at Sams. Very interesting, huh? Well anyway that is what I've done so far. Well, I'll talk to you later. Bye

Update
I miss everyone in the States. I want to go visit sometime soon. I've been taking Spanish lessons here in Mexico to help me before I start. I start school in like 3 weeks. Its been really nice to be able to relax this summer. The school I'm going to is like all Spanish except like 2 hours of English, which will be my favorite part of school. My sisters class is half English half Spanish. I am excited and terrified at the same time about starting. Well I'll talk to you tomorrow. -Marissa

My Life
Hi everybody this is Marissa. This is gonna sum up my life so whenever I write anything after this It'll make sense.I was born in Kansas. My parents names are Randy and Lisa Parr. I was called to me a missionary when I was in kindergarten. A few years later I was thinking that I really wanted to be a missionary when I was a kid so I could just enjoy the experience without as much responsibility. When I told my parents this they would just smile. A while later they told me that we would be moving to Tulsa, Ok. for my parents to got to Bible School. Shortly after we moved to Tulsa we went to Guatemala to pick up my little sister who we adopted. The adoption process took 2 years. After my parents went to bible school for to years we moved to Costa Rica for 8 months for Spanish language school. There I went to a school where all the classes where in English except one hour of Spanish. After we finished language school there we moved to Mexico to be missionaries. And that is where we are now. When we moved to Mexico in April and my family stayed at the Norvell's (our friends and also missionaries here) house for like 5 days. I really don't like living out of a suitcase. After that, we moved into a 2 bedroom condo. The missionaries here had already started a church. My first Sunday there I helped out in the elementary class. We were having church in a hotel. In June we found a building to use for the church. Like two days after buying the church a team came from the states and helped out at several churches.Three or four weeks ago my parents found a house to buy and we moved in like 2 weeks ago. I love it. The colors of my room are pink and navy blue. It's awesome. I love Mexico.
